Just a quick and dirty start for the swap to make sure everything is good. Motor runs perfect but there’s still much to do. I’m super happy with the sound of the exhaust.

I wonder if If a 3ur would fit in a Cressida, is there a big size difference?
@@maxwolthuis a UA-camr (Tavarish) swappped a 3ur into a sc300. It looked like a pain in the ass. Crossmember modifications were necessary. The motor looked huge.
@yotarip good to know, I’ll give it a go and make a YT series on it.
Way to sick perfect build
Do you do swaps as a service?

Bro your truck is amazing we’re did you get the front grill from
what is that exhaust setup???
Very kool! I still love showing people your speedometer video. My 89 2WD swap got put on the back burner in favour of my 85 4Runner 1UZ/R150f swap.
Any tips for wiring a w58 mk3 supra ol wise one🙏🏾
Love this truck. Been following you forever to see this truck. Is it all done now? I still don't have mine finished. Have almost all the parts just stuck on the wiring.
Yes sir!!!..👍🏽🏁
What vehicle and year did you take the 1uz engine from?
2001 Lexus LS430.
I’m looking to do this to my 96 T100 2wd 5spd. It currently has the 3rz-fe 4 banger in it. Any recommendations or tips? I’d like to keep it as factory looking as possible and I’m not going for very much more than stock power.
Nice. The T100 has basically the same frame and front suspension as my 87 mini. You will need 90-97 SC400 or 2uz Tundra/Sequoia OEM exhaust manifolds. No other exhaust manifolds will clear the upper control arms. Neither will the aftermarket headers. LS400 motors have the front sump oil pan which will might make it neccessary to mount the motor slighlty forward to clear the draglink. SC400 motor has the rear sump oilpan which requires to place the motor closer to the firewall so the oilpan can clear the draglink. Those two statements are from peaking from experience on my 87. The T100 may have a little more room. Don"t waste money buying custom motor mounts Make your own. Keep the engine brackets the come with the 1UZ. Weld a section of angle iron to the side of your frame and bolt the motor's engine bracket to the angle iron. Use a puck style isolator if you want to minimize vibration. My motor is solid mounted and the vibration is barely noticeable. If you want to convert the 1uz to 5 speed use the adapter plate with automatic bellhousing method. They are tried and true. Xcessive manufacturing, XAT racing and The Supra Store sell good adapter kits. Finally, Since your truck is EFI, the wiring is easy or you can get your 1uz harness converted to a standalone style harness by a company on www.lexusv8.com . The 1uz will look factory in your T100.
@@yotarip Wow, that’s all good news! I picked up a whole 94 SC400 with a title for $120 the other day. I haven’t tried to get it running yet, but it’ll turn and it has compression so it shouldn’t take much. I’m going to pull the motor apart and go through it anyways to get everything completely fresh. Fabricating stuff is easy for me, but the wiring is what I’m the most concerned about. Do you know anywhere I can get some wiring diagrams for the SC400 and 1UZ? I’d rather adapt the oem harnesses together than buy a standalone system. Thank you for such a detailed response!
@@keelandavis I always buy the factory Lexus wiring manual off eBay for the exact model and year. They are a little pricey but worth their weight in gold. Lots of detail and the diagrams are in color to match the wiring on the harness. Makes tracing wires so much easier.
@@yotarip good idea, I’ll have to look into getting one of those. Thank you for all of your help.
What exhaust configuration is on this iteration?
Just revisited this video...Thanks again for the info! Really helped me refresh my mind on the subject. (Yeah my project is taking me forever😢).
Don’t feel bad. I’m 4 years behind in my Cressida project. It runs great with the 2uz fuel rail/ regulator
I have a 92 Toyota pickup. I want to do the 1uz swap. Where do I get motor mounts for it? They might have to be custom made cause I can find them online.
Sick af bro. Im trying to decide for my mk2 between an upgraded 6cyl turbo (1jz) or a v8 turbo (1/3uz) but that v8 sound just pulls me. Its like every 80s/90s arcade racer come to life.
I love the Uz engines. I have three Uz swapped Toyotas and love them. Just know that there’s not much support for this swap into older Toyotas. It will fit in your MK2 with the right parts. Particularly the sc409 oilpan and exhaust manifolds. The price for jz motors has also exploded sooo the Uz fits my budget. Finally if you want the best NA power, the 1uz/3uz put down the power wayyyy better than the 1uz non vvti.
Beautiful set up
Im trying to do a 2uz swap in my 88. what all went into this?
I’d highly recommend that you ditch the 2uz and go with the lighter, higher reving, all aluminum 1uz/3uz. Regardless of which UZ you choose, you will definitely need the oilpan and exhaust manifolds from a SC400. There are companies that offer motor mounts for the 1uz/3uz Supra swaps but not the 2uz. You can use a mk3 Supra radiator. If you want to convert the UZ to manual, there are companies that make adapter kits. I only suggest XcessiveManufacturing and the Supra Store for the kit. Do not use Collin’s adapters. Then, there’s the wiring which can be tackled many ways depending on how much you want to spend.
Some would say this is unnatural or disrespectful for a Hilux, but we all know this generation was built to take this stress without sweating a tear and still be reliable.
Nah. Nothing disrespectful about restoring a great classic Toyota truck by installing a more modern great Toyota engine with 3 times the horsepower and same gas mileage.
The mk3 is such an underrated and beautiful car. One with a V8 and a stick is legit dream car material.
The Japanese IROC. I absolutely love this.
I came here because in another comment you said you have a Tacoma with a V8 what gives show it to us
No sir. Read the comment again. I said "toyota pickup". I haven't swapped a tacoma but if I find one for the right price in decent condition, I will.
What lip is that on the bottom
That engine fits absolutely perfect in that car. No need to worry about clutch fan setups of the jz, no worrying about intercooler pipes, or battery relocation. Everything just works as it should.
This seems so appropriate, as if the 1uz should have been a factory engine alternative.
What diff??
Stock 7.5” rear. 473 gears with a 84 celica w58
Like the build question were did u get the caltraks from
I made them after watching a couple of diy caltracs builds on UA-cam. They work amazingly too.
When i have a hard day at work i look at this video honestly
Is this running on the stock Lexus ecu? I’m really leaning toward a vvti swap as I never plan on boosting.
Yep. Stock ecu. I like running the stock ecu because it runs perfectly. Just like when it was in the original chassis. The 1uz vvti is the best option if you don’t plan on boosting. But they can still handle 5-7 pounds with good tuning.
@@yotaripThank you so much for the reply. For me the vvti makes a lot more sense. More hp, and better fuel mileage. I’ve also seen your posts on Facebook and I’m super interested in your automatic vvti swap as that’s what I want to do to my 98 automatic 2wd Tacoma.
Bro great info!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Is this using the toyota 7.5 rear end/w56? Thanks!

@@yotarip Awesome thanks so much!
how are your fuel filter lines routed??? also how did you get the cluster to talk with the 1uz??
The fuel filter is a filter/regulator for Chevy LS motors. It’s on the firewall just under the “L” in the Lexus decal. It acts as filter and pressure regulator. The vvti motor doesn’t have a regulator on the fuel rail.
@@yotarip from what I’m reading I need something minimum 40psi at the regulator ? Also what’s the part # on that filter you got? I’ve looked and only can find a in/out 2 port filter

The filter has three ports . Inlet from the tank, outlet to the rail and a return to the tank.
